process and mourning (available in English, Spanish, and Chinese).

Resource Packets
Packets containing age-appropriate information, support materials
and activity books for children of different ages to help them with
their grief reactions. |

Support
Group Program
An ongoing support group for parents who have experienced a miscarriage,
fetal demise/stillbirth/early neonatal loss, run by a senior social
worker and nurse specialist. Soon, this program will include a support
group for parents who have lost a child and a father's group.

Children's
Program
This program is designed
around a series of therapeutic activity groups for children 8-12
years of age. A corresponding networking group for parents/caretakers
will be available.

Straight
Talk to Children
A
consultation service designed to assist parents and their families
to help their children who are under the age of 18 to understand
a sibling or adult family member's illness and death.

Family
Support Series
A psychoeducational support program for families held three times
a year. This year's topics will include Dealing with a New Loss, Coping
over Time, and Handling Special Occasions. |

Resource Library
Our library at NYU Hospitals Center contains relevant articles, videos,
books, bibliographies, etc. For a list of books online for bereavement
for parents, children and adolescents visit the NYU
Kids Health Bookshop. |

Remembrance
Services
Services are held twice a year for families to return to the NYU Hospitals
Center to remember their baby/child. Staff also attend. |

Sympathy
Card
A collectively signed card from the care team is sent to the family
after their loss. |

Thinking
of you cards
Sent to families periodically. |

Community
Advisory Committee
This committee is made up of staff and individuals from the community
who are sensitive to these types of losses. The purpose is to illicit
feedback and input into program planning. |
